Boots & Coots is searching for a talented HSE Specialist-Production for a rotation position in Libya.


* * Please note that this is a contract position and any candidates that are extended an offer for this position will be required to be employed by our 3rd party contractor and be paid on a day-rate basis. * *


Position description:

Technical advisor in leading and continued implementation of applicable industry standards relating to Risk Management, relevant strategies, policies, and procedures.

Participate in activities of various aspects of HSE management systems and management systems; ensure compliance with applicable Risk Management and HSE standards and requirements; and ensures that best practices are reported to the client via the Project Manager.

Interface with client companys functional and operational personnel at all levels of the organization, providing the leadership and coaching necessary to facilitate the implementation of systems and competency assurance assessments.

Maintain a consistent client-focused approach and active team approach philosophy.

Develop a strong safety culture within the work force.

Activities may include, but not limited to: inspections, audits, assessments, safety meetings, risk identification, risk analysis, risk assessments, incident investigation, incident reporting, environmental issues and compliance.

Participates as an advisor, coach and supervisor to the clients site personnel who, in their professional occupation as production, safety and movement personnel, are on the job sites, workshops and work-related areas, and ensuring that the activities are in accordance with industry standards.

Conduct audits, assist in development of audit protocols, manuals, audit-related checklists.

Assist in the development of company HSE procedures.

Roll out to client companys personnel new procedures & systems and provide ongoing guidance.

Provides directions, leadership, data interpretation, and technical assistance to site personnel.

Conduct on-site training and drills as applicable.

Provides technical support in the field to the clients operations in the framework of HSE competencies and culture.

Utilises excellent communication, reporting and computer skills to develop meaningful and concise reporting when required.

Articulate a sound knowledge of industry best practices for an HSE protocol.

Ability to work within a multi-cultural environment.

Emergency Management including Airport Crash Rescue response.

HSE Site Supervisor.

Prepare and submit progress reports within a given timeframe to the B&C project manager

Status: Staff
Required Qualifications: Minimum 10 years experience as an HSE professional within the Oil & Gas sector

Hold minimum NEBOSH certificate or equivalent and/or membership of recognized body

A1 assessor or equivalent

Operated as an ER/Fire team leader

Up to date industry knowledge of fire systems, equipment, maintenance and testing

Proficient in HAZID, control of works (PTW), accident investigation and root cause analysis

Ability to develop and deliver HSE training material and assess competency

Full understanding of HSE managements systems and emergency response plans

Experienced in leading safety meetings and conducting safety audits

Good level of inter person skills and leadership

Experienced in working in a multi cultural environment

Ability to write concise reports

Computer literate in MS Excel, Word. Access

Hold a valid passport and international drivers license

Minimum Experience: 10 years
